About the Artists

Widely regarded as one of the best-known hammered dulcimer players in the world and a well-regarded Appalachian style fiddler, Ken Kolodner has toured for many years with some of the top players in the U.S. Called “a world class instrumentalist” by Sing Out!, Kolodner has more than 20 recordings.

Mary Lynn Michal received a master’s degree from The Eastman School of Music and played French Horn with the Durham Symphony for more than 20 years. After discovering the hammered dulcimer and studying with Sue Wilson and Ken Kolodner, Michal has become one of the most sought-after teachers and performers of the hammered dulcimer in the U.S.
